Aberdeen is a city located in the Northeast region of Scotland. The city is the third most populous city in the country with an official population estimate of 196,670.
Aberdeen has an oceanic climate. Despite being a northern settlement, Aberdeen had a mild winter temperature. Although, it is statistically proven to be the coldest city in the UK.

History
Aberdeen has been a human settlement for about 8,000 years. The city was birthed from two regions known as Burghs and the New Aberdeen.
Burghs had its course at the mouth of River Don. While the New Aberdeen started as a settlement for fishing and trading.
In 1319, Robert the Bruce transformed Aberdeen into a financially-independent and property-owing community. Alongside the transformation, the establishment of the Forest of Stocket was also granted in the same year.
The financial benefits raked from the Forest of Stocket served as the basis of the city’s Common Good Fund. The then Forest of Stocket is now the popular Mid Stocket area of Aberdeen that all Aberdonians still enjoy today.
Aberdeen was under the rule of the English during the Scottish Independence Wars. So, Robert the Bruce had to lay siege at the Aberdeen Castle before he destroyed it in 1308.
This destruction came after the massacre of the English Garrison. However, the city was burnt down by Edward III of England in 1336 but was later rebuilt and extended.
Governance
Aberdeen is locally governed by Aberdeen Council which is made up of 45 counsellors representing the wards if the ancient city.
The city is however headed by the Lord Provost. The incumbent Lord is Barney Crockett.

Aberdeen is a home to many beautiful side attractions. The city has the Capitol theater, Aberdeen Art Center, The Palace Theater and Trivoli as a list of the best theatres in the world.
The Duthie Park and Union Terrace garden have also attracted hundreds of thousands of people all over the world.
Economy
Due to the emerging advancement in technology, fishing, textile, shipbuilding and paper making industries have been replaced.
The emergence of Electronic designs, agricultural research and oil industry have set the city on a golden economic track.
Sports
In 1983, Aberdeen FC won the European Cup winners Cup if the year. The football club also cling onto the Championship cup titles of the Scottish Premier league in 1955,1980,1984 and 1985.
Also, it has the record of winning the Scottish cup seven times in history: 1947, 1970, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986 and 1990.
Nightlife
The streets of the city of Aberdeen rocks every night with good music. Music from the traditional pubs, beer taverns, and cocktail bars fill the air at nights.
